Vitality!

“To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist, that is all.” – Oscar Wilde

At the Institute of Biobehavioral Medicine (IBBMed), our comprehensive Vitality! workshop stimulates you emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. Come join us and learn new perspectives, heal old wounds and grow into your optimum self. Reach a state of bliss and serenity with compassion, forgiveness and love for yourself and the universe.

Your life experience is a reflection of your core. A lack of love can lead to distress, ailments and emotional reaction, even in the best of times. Your life can be an empty, unstable, aimless path leading to endless frustration and anger if you don’t stop to reevaluate, learn, heal and grow.

“Love sometimes wants to do us a great favor:
Hold us upside down and shake all the nonsense out.”
– Hafiz

Grief & Loss Group

“Happiness is beneficial for the body, but it is grief that develops the powers of the mind.” – Marcel Proust

The Institute of Biobehavioral Medicine (IBBMED) welcomes teens and adolescents who have experienced loss to come together and collaborate as a group and work through the grieving process.

Our Grief & Loss group is specifically designed to create a safe place for bereaved young individuals to relate to one another, explore their thoughts and emotions, while providing support, encouragement and hope.

Why Join a Group?

The death of a parent, sibling, or someone close can be devastating for children and teens. They experience a range of intense emotions including sadness, anger, fear, and guilt. Talking about the death with peers who have not had a similar experience can be uncomfortable and make kids feel different. Children may be reluctant to share their grief with surviving family members for fear of upsetting them. Too often, children end up grieving alone. A group among individuals who can relate makes it easier for the teen or child to express themselves more openly. Group facilitator Daphne Rahnama, specializes in grief and loss among teens and will offer an innovative perspective that will help guide individuals towards a more healthy future.

Who is eligible?

The program is designed for adolescents and teens between 12 and 19 years old with a loss of a relative, friend or loved one.

When does the group run?

The group will meet regularly once a week. Call us at (800) 725-4251 for more details.
